The Artinoise re.corder is a hybrid woodwind instrument that provides incredible flexibility. While completely able to be used as a traditional soprano recorder, what separates the re.corder apart is its connectivity. Simply by inserting the included digital sensor, it becomes an advanced MIDI controller, sensing touch on the finger-holes, pressure from your breath, and tilt from the built-in accelerometer. This gives you full connectivity to your smartphone, tablet, or computer, to control just about anything!


The re.corder app lets you play a variety of sounds from their own sound bank, including oboe, violin, clarinet, and many more. The app also allows you to practice your instrument with exercises and songs, learn new music, program in your own fingerings, and apply effects. Plus, for seasoned players and producers, the re.corder's MIDI control will let you access third-party sound libraries, so you cam play a full orchestra, percussion, or even synthesizers. When connected to the app, you can also connect your headphones to your external device and play completely silently. Hybrid technology

While a forward-thinking instrument, the hybrid system of the re.corder is still perfectly capable of functioning as a classic acoustic soprano recorder. However, with the attachment of the digital sensor, it becomes an innovative MIDI controller, that you can control with not just your fingers, but the pressure of your breath, and the tilt of the recorder.

External Connectivity

The re.corder is capable of connecting to not only its own app, but through your smartphone, tablet or computer to control software instruments, sound libraries, loopers, and even DAWs. This lets you practice and learn, or sit and produce music using a wide range of techniques, sounds, and timbres.

Portable and silent

Although you can use it out loud as a performance instrument, the re.corder is lightweight, needs no wires to operate, and is extremely portable. Its lithium-polymer battery provides up to ten hours of continuous play from a single charge. When connected to another device, you can easily plug your headphones in to your phone, tablet, or laptop to play silently while on the go.
