The Relab approach
Traditionally, reverb emulations will use static models that ignore the internal movement and dynamics that hardware produces. Building off the incredibly popular LX480 reverb, Relab took to using next-generation advanced machine learning frameworks, analysing millions of data points to set new standards for hardware emulation that excels in reproducing the ever-changing dynamics of vintage gear.
Dual-engine design, double the control
Beneath QuantX’s front-facing UI is the dual-engine design that combines two powerful systems, each with its own set of four outputs, working together inside QuantX. With this approach, you can achieve a unique “front-to-back” reverb depth. Now, you can blending the distinct qualities of both modules of this twin-engine titan to ensure you can fit your reverb into any mixes.
Frequency-based reverb for natural and authentic sounds
QuantX is built differently. Rather than using time-based decay to generate a tone, QuantX uses resonators to replicate the behaviour of sound travelling through air. The room becomes an instrument, giving you reverb that has life and movement, that’s more integrated with the original sound for a completely natural and authentic reverb tone. This doesn’t mean you’re limited in the reverb length, with room size options from 1 to 1million cubic meters, you can go from tight reflections to endless tails.
Dimensionality, with the clarity
Create the illusion of space with minimal reverb with the onboard Enhance feature inside QuantX. This simulates the sound of capturing the first bounce of audio across surfaces in a room, adding dimensionality to your track without introducing the muddiness that typically comes from layering long reverb tails.
Timeless reverb, your way
Toggle between two unique reverb algorithms—a pristine, factory-spec German unit and a deeply characterful, time-worn US unit. With the Temperature Control knob, you can now emulate the evolution of sound from a cold startup to the warm, rich tones of a hardware unit left on for 72 hours. QuantX captures the essence of classic gear aging. The US algorithm faithfully recreates the quirks of an unstable crystal clock and aging components, while the German version delivers the stability and clarity of a freshly restored machine. Together, they offer sonic flexibility no competitor can match.
