The RME Digiface AVB provides the means to transmit up to 256 network audio channels, from a computer to other AVB devices. The Digiface AVB utilises the open IEEE 802 Protocol, prioritising audio data streaming over a gigabit network. The RME AVB only requires a single USB 3.0 cable for signal transference, allowing up to 128 audio channels to be sent to and from the AVB network, with sample rates ranging up to 192kHz for maximum audio performance. The interface allows you to choose between 2 and 32 channels for maximum compatibility. It also features integrated wordclock I/O and headphone output for high-end monitoring.

256 Network Audio Channels

The RME Digiface AVB USB Clock Network Monitor is the perfect solution for Audio Visual Bridging networks, providing a compact and portable unit delivering up to 256 network audio channels. The Digiface AVB Network Monitor can process audio channels between a Windows computer and other AVB devices in a Gigabit network. It operates on the open IEEE 802.1 protocol, providing synchronized and priority streaming of audio data for the gigabit network. One of the most unique features of the AVB Clock Network Monitor is the integrated USB 3.0 connection, with the ability to send up to 128 audio channels through the AVB network. The sample rates range up to 192kHz for exceptional audio fidelity and optimal performance. You can also select between 2 and 32 channels for maximum compatibility with external AVB audio devices.

Wordclock I/O

Wordclock I/O connectivity is included, as well as a dedicated headphone output for premium-grade private monitoring. The wordclock is used to synchronise the unit with other devices such as digital audio equipment including S/PDIF, AES/EBU, ADATA, TDIF and more. The wordclock can act as a master clock for the network ensuring seamless audio performance.

TotalMix FX Mixer

As with all other RME interfaces, the Digiface AVB comes complete with the innovative realtime mixer – TotalMix FX. This specialised software-based mixer allows for highly flexible mixing and routing capabilities, allowing for all inputs and playback channels to be routed via hardware outputs. This version does not include DSP for FX but does include dedicated Control Room section as well as Talkback, Main/Phones, fader groups and more. The TotalMix FX Mixer can be used for a variety of applications including setting up delay-free submixes, distributing signal to several outputs simultaneously, mixing of the input signal to the playback signal, integration of external devices and much more.
