The M 149 Tube Microphone features a large-diaphragm transformerless tube design with switchable polar patterns. This high-end tube microphone features two slide switches located below the large headgrille, allowing you to selection from nine directional patterns. The wide frequency range and range of polar patterns makes it ideal for a variety of recording applications from vocals to percussion. The nine polar patterns deliver exceptional clarity and refined audio for a truly unique character.

With its nine polar patterns in total, the M 149 Tube Microphone is not only ideal as a superb vocalist microphone but can be great in a range of other recording situations. The modern circuitry and extremely low noise level provide exceptional audio performance. At the heart of the microphone is the K 49 capsule – highly renowned for its incredible acoustic qualities, used in the legendary U 47 and M 49 models. This capsule enables the M 149 Tube to feed long microphone cables without any colouration, ideal for studio settings.
One of the most unique features on the microphone is the seven-position filter, which allows you to select between a high-pass filter, advancing in half-octave steps between 20 Hz and 160 Hz (- 3dB). The filter is highly useful for minimising rumble from air-conditioning or wind from background noise. The filter is also an effective tool for controlling the audio signal when the mic is used at close distance.
The robust yet sleek design of the Neumann M 149 combines vintage aesthetics with a modern sheen. The M 149 comes complete with the N 149 power supply, specifically designed to feed the microphone through an 8-core cable. The output connector for the audio cable is a 3-in XLR, with the output signal balanced. Additionally, the microphone comes complete with an aluminium case, 8-core microphone connecting cable, power supply and EA 170 full elastic microphone suspension as well as a dust cover.
