The Doepfer A-106-5 12dB SEM Filter's circuitry is based on the classic SEM module from the '70s. The original SEM filter used a 2-pole multi-mode design, with low-pass, band-pass, hi-pass, and band-reject/notch. The Doepfer SEM uses this same design, with a Mix control to adjust between dominant high-pass/low-pass, or a notch filter. Turning the Mix control counter-clockwise from 12-o-clock will result in a more dominant low-pass filter, whilst turning it clockwise from 12-o-clock will achieve a more dominant high-pass filter. Setting Mix to 12-o-clock will provide you with a notch filter. This single control knob gives you an incredible amount of versatility and performance-orientated sound sculpting in an intuitive and easy to use design. The Mix control features its own dedicated output for the combined high-pass/low-pass/notch filter signal. It also features a separate output for the band-pass signal. The Doepfer A-106-5 SEM also includes two CV inputs: one standard CV input (CV1), and one that features a polarizer control (CV2). Between the CV inputs and the BP and LP/HP/Notch outputs, there is the module's audio input with a level control. When using standard A-100 system sound signals such as the A-100 VCOs, setting the level to 12-o-clock/50% or higher will provide you with a unique distorted audio signal. The Doepfer A-106-5 12dB SEM Filter is both powerful, versatile, and easy to use, all at the same time.
