Analogue Summing gives your mix that much needed energy and life that digital in-the-box plug-ins can't compare to. Whether you are recording, mixing or mastering, you want to hear every nuance of detail in your audio to be able to create professional and successful productions. Whether you're evaluating a new microphone, preamp or EQ, the D-BOX lets you judge all of these with confidence. D-BOX gives you incredible headroom, depth, width and clarity to make your panning more precise and wide, reverbs and delays engaging and clear, bass tight and punchier, mids more detailed and top more open. Your digital subgroups are sent from your DAW to the D/A converters of the D-BOX for superb clarity and detail.
D-BOX offers much of the requested features including headphone amplification, speaker selection, talkback and monitoring functions, all packed into a single rack space device. D-BOX lets you conveniently switch between alternate monitors for referencing audio quickly on different speaker systems, and it does this noiselessly without any drop outs or phase shifts. On the front panel are two independent 20W headphone amplifiers, offering loads of headroom that allows you to listen intelligibly and make critical mixing decisions. Separate volume knobs allow you to accommodate different user tastes. The talkback mic and its level control knob allow you to quickly and easily communicate with the artist/musician directly through their headphones. On top of that, the D-BOX offers a variety of function buttons for referencing audio including a mono switch for checking if your mix is lacking anything or if sounds are getting lost in the mix. Additionally, these switches can be changed to either be in latching or toggle mode depending on your preference of working.
With the D-BOX you can select different inputs that you want to be sent to the speakers and headphone amplifiers. The input select section lets you choose between two analogue and two digital sources. The SUM switch can be used to hear your mix before it has processing and after it has processing. Both CD and DAW buttons are digital inputs that feed into the D-BOX's D/A converter, allowing you to monitor from the same D/A. This means your mixing decisions will be unbiased by different converters. You can plug your MP3 player into a digital dock and reference your mix alongside at the same level, through the same D/A.
The D-BOX is ideal as a centrepiece for your studio. Both small and large studios can benefit from D-BOX's pristine analogue summing and convenient and quick monitor control. The D-BOX is equipped with a main stereo analogue input, two digital inputs that both monitor through the same reference D/A, and two speaker outputs. On top of that, the D-BOX can integrate both professional (+4dBu) balanced inputs and commercial (-10dBV) inputs such as smartphones and laptops. All this can be controlled with the separate level controls for matching loudness.
