Real Tea-Strainer Capsule

The capsule element of the Z.Vex TB-1 is mounted inside a real tea-strainer, along with a removable (and washable) foam windscreen and 2x CR2032 batteries giving up to 100 hours of use. The capsule is suspended by springs from a copper ring, giving a unique vintage-inspired aesthetic that will really stand out on stage or in your studio.

Feedback Rejection

The TB-1 Tea Ball Microphone has a focused sound pickup pattern - it will reject any noise at a greater distance than 1''. This gives it incredible feedback resistance and sound source isolation. The TB-1's narrow profile makes it ideal for mounting on guitar cabinets, or any other instrument that requires isolation from other sound sources in a noisy performance environment.

Vocal Performance

The TB-1's tea-strainer capsule is constructed with a soft-feeling metal and is spring-mounted in a copper hoop. Not only does this give the microphone an early-century aesthetic, it also makes it suitable for vocal use with the mouth less than an inch away - or even touching - the capsule. This gives a bass-boosted proximity effect and could be your ideal on-stage feedback-resistant mic or give you a perfect studio voice-over sound. The microphone also provides a subtle and sympathetic compression effect.

Connectivity

The TB-1 will mount to any microphone stand. It includes a 1/4'' female jack socket allowing for use with any standard instrument cable. The TB-1 has an LED indicator light and an 'on' switch. The mic automatically disengages when unplugged so you won't accidentally drain the batteries. The 2x CR2032 batteries are cost-efficient and replaceable; they provide up to 100 hours of use.
