Your new module that helps you to find new patterns. The Noise Engineering Mimetic Sequent is a CV randomiser and recorder that lets you randomise patterns and save them. You can save and modify up to three unique patterns, and easily switch between them on the fly.

Record patterns when you find ones you like. You can record up to 64-steps, or continuously record until it's turned off. The Mimetic Sequent lets you modify them by duplicating copies, manually advancing steps, or going all in and randomising. We always knew that randomisation was a good thing.

Randomise Patterns

One of the greatest things about this module is its randomisation control. This is great way to come up with new and unique patterns easily, and to get your creativity flowing. The Mimetic Sequent gives you the ability to control the amount and type of randomisation you want.

The random knob controls the probability that the current step will be randomised and how extreme it will be. Turning clockwise lets you to increase the chance of randomisation. Keep turning until you find one you like and then lock it in by turning the same knob fully counter-clockwise.

The mode switch provides different ways of randomising. You can choose between only small changes, without reacting to pitch, or by having the module randomise across two or five octaves of pitch. By carefully playing with the random knob, you can create musical variations easily.

Modify on the Fly

You can also change between three different patterns whilst it’s playing, making it perfect for live performance. You can switch between them using the pattern switch. Another thing you can do is copy the currently selected pattern to the other two patterns, and manually advance the step in the pattern to create slight variations.

Save and Record your Favourites

Found a pattern you like? Record it. You can record a sequence of CVs, and choose to record short (less than 64 steps), or to continuously record until you’re done. The module records to its flash, and the recordings won’t get deleted when power is turned off.
