The FET-HE Heritage Edition is based on the original MXL Genesis condenser microphone but with the added convenience of solid state electronics. This means this edition is a transistor version, with field-effect transistors instead of the original vacuum tube. This gives the user the premium sonic qualities found in the original Genesis but instead uses Phantom Power and isn't as vulnerable to shock and damage.
