The IK Multimedia MODO Drum is another innovative step forward for their physical modelling technology. A world-first, this virtual drum instrument provides flexible studio-ready sound with deep customisation. The MODO Drum accepts assignable MIDI CC and DAW automation too, for naturalistic, dynamic drum tracks that you can adjust on the fly. Eight different room convolution reverbs to switch between provide a range of different characters to your sounds, and the comprehensive effects section derived from IK's TRackS and AmpliTube suites allow you to sculpt your drum sound with immense depth. Whether you're looking for aggressive breakbeats or smooth grooves, the MODO Drum can provide it with an authentic sound.


Using real-time modal synthesis gives the MODO Drum the flexibility and deep customisation that you can't achieve with typical sample-based libraries. Kit editing controls allow you to add, change and position as many shells you need, pick and change the materials of any shell of your choice, and customise their shape and size. Customisation over the drum skins, including damping, volume and tuning control, as well as mixing in snare buzz, tom buzz, overheads, and room microphone models, you have complete control over the sound of the entire kit all the way down to the construction of the sticks used. With over 1400 pre-programmed MIDI grooves, you can readily drag and drop these programs into your DAW, and use them to get an immediate sound, to give you a perfect preset or a customisable start for your track. Advanced real-time control via MIDI CC or DAW automation allows you to dynamically edit and vary your performance to create realistic and convincing drum sounds. You can even vary your virtual play style and strike position as you play, to allow you to create organic, flowing sound, rounded out and shaped by its comprehensive effects. Your degree of realism is up to you, with 1400 pre-programmed grooves, you can get fantastically convincing sound right out of the gate.

Incredible customisation

The MODO Drum provides you plenty of deep sound-creation options, however. With control over the size, shape, and material of each drum shell, tuning, damping, and material of the skins, you can build your own custom kit.
