Industry renowned filters

Vintage circuits used throughout the SE-1X combine to create a multi-filter powered synth. Two of the most popular filter designs ever, the 24dB ‘Mini’ and 12dB SEM offer both low-pass and band-pass capabilities. These have been updated with the latest reissue to offer an expanded frequency range.

Three voltage control oscillators also provide huge potential for creating interesting soundscapes. Here, select between combinable triangle, sine, saw and variable pulse width square waveforms, all of which are discrete. Another addition, the second VCO now boasts a sine wave which replaces the original triangle shape.

True analog potential

The original, and highly popular, two-stage Mini amplifier offers a distinct vintage sound. This can be combined with the switchable ‘Fuzz’ circuit for true analog amplifier saturation and drive. The circuitry can be used on both internal and external creations. External audio input processing can be used to access the noise generator and analog ring modulation.

An improved envelope section

Four multiple stage envelope generators allow for complex audio processing. Two of these envelopes are assignable, providing ultimate control over the shaping of the input signal. The SE-1X also features three LFO’s with key trigger, phase and MIDI sync, ideal for integrating with other hardware equipment. The minimum envelope time has also been quickened from the original SE-1X.

Intuitive control panel

The SE-1X has the potential to store 693 patches, with continuous control assignments available for all vital parameters. This is indicated via a display in the programmer module, offering visual feedback of patch parameters. The rest of the front panel offers robust knobs and buttons that allow for precise control of signal manipulation.
