Revv G2 Overdrive Pedal Overview
Based on the green channel of Revv amplifiers. The Revv G2 Overdrive Pedal takes that beloved soulful blues vibe and adds a vast spectrum of tonal colours to any amp. The term ‘Amp in a box’ is used a lot in the pedal world but rarely does a pedal deserve that tag. There is a uniquely lush and musical break-up on this pedal. From its lowest gain settings, your ears will hear how beautifully rich and harmonic this pedal is, it’s a subtle touch of magic that starts to transform your amp.
At the opposite end of the spectrum, crank the gain, engage the ‘Red’ channel and you are greeted with a snarling beast of a pedal. This is the classic old school ‘amp at 11’ sound. Retaining note definition, clarity, and focus which would satisfy the most demanding of players.

Whether used as a boost for pushing an amp, enhancing harmonics or a fat cranked gain you are after. This pedal not only offers this flexibility, but it dominates. Gone are the days of an overdrive doing one thing well, the G2 offers something beautiful on each of its settings.
The soul of this pedal is the coveted Green channel. This sounds incredibly open and dynamic – perfect for expressive styles of playing that require articulation to your playing. But because of the incredibly wide range of gain available, this quickly takes you into overdrive that still elicits those fundamental characteristics. That, in of itself is worth the price of admission but of course, there is so much more on offer.
The last position is the Red channel which pushes the pedal into much heavier realms. There is an increase in gain and low-end response which gives a 4x12 feel. This is great for soloing and chunky rhythm work that still retains the focused and clear harmonic qualities of the blues setting.

There is a huge range on the EQ section of the G2 which makes this highly adaptable regardless of the size of your amp and cab. It has the widest EQ and gain control range of any Revv G series pedal. The bass control can fatten up underwound single coils, adding new depth to vintage voice single coils or tame high output humbuckers. Need to add more body and bark to your amp? The midrange control is incredibly powerful. Increasing this gives a more forward sound, perfect for being heard in the mix. The snarl that is induced from pushing the mids alongside the gain really lets this pedal sing.
Need a little extra bite or to tame bright pickups? No problem, the treble control is very adaptable but never sounds shrill or harsh and again, interacts strongly with the gain control.
A pedal platform powerhouse
A perfect addition to clean amplifiers. If you want to really sculpt a unique drive tone, this pedal will stack incredibly well with other drives. It has an incredibly low noise floor with a very adaptive tone and gain controls; whatever you use it as your primary drive, a boost, or as a stacking tool – The G2 is a true asset to your arsenal.
