Bubinga's gorgeous, swirling beauty radiates off the back and sides with a stunning satin finish. And it sounds fantastic too. Much like rosewood, bubinga offers an even response from the lows to the highs, resulting in a beautifully balanced tone. It allows you experience the wonders of clear, sparkling brightness as well as having a sea of resonance beneath. There really isn’t a dreamier tone. But bubinga goes one step further than rosewood. Its higher density makes for greater sustain and clarity, so you can perform with a rich, full sound.
A divine accompaniment to bubinga comes in the form of a solid North American cedar top. This tonewood gives the R180 its dark and warm sonic qualities. By simply looping the string around the two holes provided for each string, you can trap the end of the string in a noose, help in place by the string tension. This solves the challenging problem of tying knots in nylon strings without ball ends.
