The Mesa Boogie 5Y3 is the most 'saggy' tube in Mesa Boogies valve line-up. The Mesa Boogie 5Y3 gives your guitar an addictive playability as it makes your strings come across silky smooth. Built to the exact specification of those 5Y3's found in Mesa Boogie's incredible Lone Star Special amplifier, these tubes are incredibly smooth. You'll absolutely love playing with them in your amplifier.

'Sag' refers to the slight drop in voltage that occurs when using different Rectifier valves. This lends the tone a very dynamic sound which features a lot of harmonic movement. How much sag you want in your tone is down to taste but with Mesa's variety of valves you'll be spoilt for choice.
