Versatile Distortion

The DS-830 is renowned for being one of the most flexible distortion boxes available thanks to its ability to deliver incredible amounts of gain along with transparency, that won't colour your original tone. This versatile powerhouse is also capable of delivering lightly overdriven blues tones at lower gain settings.

Controls Options

The DS-830 is equipped four control knobs including Gain, Bass, Treble and Level. The Bass knob offers a low-end muscle that makes a combo amp sound like a stack while the Treble control dials in just the right amount of bite without excessive top-end sizzle. Both controls are dynamically interactive, offering a full-bodied distortion that can also be used on bass guitar. The DS-830 is incredibly versatile and features a full host of usable tones that will add texture to any performance.

About Maxon

Maxon started out in Japan in 1965 under the name Nisshin Onpa, manufacturing guitar pickups before producing OEM products for other companies. Nisshin Onpa was responsible for designing and manufacturing many legendary pedals while working in partnership with Ibanez, including the TS-808/TS808 and TS9 tube screamers. Although many of the pedals Maxon created were released under the Ibanez name, Maxon was producing pedals under their own name, and in 2002 when the two companies parted way, Maxon began to push its name as a manufacturer of high-quality effects pedals. Today Maxon produce "hard-to-find" vintage type effects pedals, and are used by many artists such as Pearl Jam, Troy Van Leeuwen, Steve Stevens, Brad Whitford, and many more.
