Monstrous tone
As Gojira's sound has progressed as a group, so has Christian's playing- his guitar needs to be able to match that versatility. The ebony fingerboard is ideal for lightning fast runs; due to the very tight grains in the wood, ebony does not require a finish and this gives the fingerboard a remarkably slick, fast playing quality which perfectly suits heavier genres and playing styles. Tonally, ebony is bright and responsive, for articulate highs and well-defined low end. The string-through-body design adds a healthy amount of sustain whilst simultaneously adding to the minimalist style- no frills here, just mammoth tones. These tones are unbridled right the way up the neck, with unrestricted access to all 24 frets giving you extended range and scope for runs and riffs.
