The Godin Summit Classic SG in Vintage Burst is Godin's take on a classic single cutaway bolt-on guitar design. This guitar is crafted from versatile-sounding Canadian Laurentian basswood which gives a light weight feel for enhanced comfort. The Summit Classic SG is loaded with dual Godin humbuckers proving a powerful sound for crunchy rock rhythms and powerful lead guitar sounds. The neck is made from resonant maple with a rosewood fingerboard; the fingerboard has an ergocut design for an incredibly smooth playing feel. This guitar has a stable nickel wrap-around bridge which provides enhanced tuning stability and sustain. The Summit Classic is a rock-influenced guitar and would be ideal for creating powerful tones that cut through the mix. The guitar has a 3-way switch and single volume/tone control arrangement for simple yet effective tonal adjustments. Whether practicing at home or rocking on stage, you'll find that the Summit Classic is simple to use yet provides a powerful set of tones and an easy playability.

Classic Single Cutaway Design

The Godin Summit Classic SG features a classic single cutaway set-neck body design whose outline has helped define the rock and pop genre over the past half century. This simple guitar design has a fixed bridge and dual humbuckers which gives a resonant tone and great tuning stability, perfect for busy gigging musicians who value tone, playability, and good looks.

Versatile Tonewoods

The Summit Classic features a Canadian Laurentian basswood body which is a lightweight and tonally versatile tonewood. It has a well-balanced frequency output that adapts to many styles of playing and musical genres. Its light weight makes it comfortable to use over long periods, while the set-neck design enhances the sustain and resonance.

The neck is crafted from maple for a smooth feel and to provide bright overtones, while the rosewood fingerboard has great low-end articulation for a snappy response.

Dual Humbuckers

The Summit Classic has two Godin humbuckers which provide a balanced sound with a medium-high gain output. They are perfectly suited to rock and pop styles, while the 3-way pickup selector and simple vol/tone control arrangement lets you craft many different tones out of the guitar. When combined with the basswood body, these pickups create a versatile tonality that will respond well to your playing dynamics and adapt to different amp/pedal settings to cover many different genres of music.

Smooth Playability

The rosewood fingerboard has a ergocut design which makes it even smoother for a comfortable playing feel. The guitar's single cutaway provides enhanced access to the upper-frets and is ideal for soloing. The basswood body is light for a comfortable playing feel during long gigs/practice sessions.

Fixed bridge guitars are inherently more stable and resonant.
