At low-gain settings, the Hexdrive's enormous headroom pushes your clean tone into warm amp overdrive, but adds a cauldron-full of heavy, demonic distortion when pushed to the max. Fine-tune your tone's midrange with the smart yet subtle tone knob, which swings from a smooth US sound to full on british rock aggression. Terrific, terrifying tone control. Whether you're a fan of thick, semi-scooped USA-style chunk, or the massive upper mid push of a classic british distortion, the Hexdrive's tone pot does it all with style.
At its minimum setting, a world of low-mid warmth is matched with a cutting, crisp top-end. As you raise the level, a pair of ultra-musical low and high shelf filters push the high mids to the fore, creating a raucous british-rock riot with a super-tight bottom end, perfect for tidying up low-tuned guitars in any mix.
12 o'clock - the new witching hour
Midnight mass. Something special happens as you hit 12 o'clock on the Fortin Hexdrive's drive control. At lower gain levels, the pedal's output is super-clean, working with the level output, and the pedal's unprecedentedly high headroom, to drive your amp's raw sound.
But above centre-point, the exclusive and ingenious clipping circuit goes to work, gradually adding more and more distortion to reach a completely blown-out whirlwind of crushing crunch. Get creative and mix and match drive and level settings, to push your amp's tone to its absolute limits.
