In previous years, 16" Bass Drums were something that were considered quite unorthodox. Bass Drum this size were often converted from floor toms with specialist hardware. In recent years however, 16" bass drums have acquired an abundance of interest due to their unique and distinctive sound.Differing to 18-26" bass drums, 16" drums can often feature metal tom hoops or standard bass drum hoops. These two specific variants neccesitate varied designs from the drumhead flesh hoop. The Evans 16" bass drum head enables a vast array of sonic and aesthetic options that mean a compromise of tonal preferences for a smaller drum are unccessary.
