View Full Description The Marimbula is a unique and traditional African/Caribbean percussion instrument that dates back to the 19th Century. Played by plucking the tuned tongues with mallets or fingers to create bass lines the Marimbula produces a sound like no other and is an interesting and uncommon addition to any percussion collection.The Marimbula works by sending vibrations down the metal or wooden tongues which are mounted within a large wooden resonator in which the vibrations/sounds reflect and amplify before being released though pre-cut sounds hole/holes.
