The Meinl Marathon Classic Series Conga Set has been crafted to the highest standard for professional use. Two-ply Siam oak shells produces a bright, resonant tone. Meinl Buffalo heads are weatherproof, durable and responsive. Finished with robust hardware to keep your conga sounding great.
Robust hardware ensures your conga always sounds perfect. The Classic Series Conga drums come with a sturdy, double-braced conga stand to hold both your congas. The stand is height-adjustable and easy to set up and tear down. Ergonomic rubber bracing provides more stability. On the congas, 8mm strong tuning lugs are robust and keep your tuning in tact. Meinl Conga Savers are included to prevent damage. You can place them over your lugs and the conga will still be tune-able.
All Meinl congas go through a rigorous manufacturing and quality control process. Wood is sawn and then bent into a curved shape using a large press. The staves are checked for consistency, then assembled into a conga-like shape by hand. Cut to profile in a lathe, sanded and painted - each conga then goes to the careful and meticulous work of the quality control team.
