The SE-88 Filter Module is based on and inspired by the classic CS80 filter, used in popular movie soundtracks such as Blade Runner. This high-end filter utilises specialised circuitry and an updated design to deliver one of the most versatile combination filters on the market. You can select between Mode 1’s HP or BR to feed Mode 2’s LP or BP section. You can use the selection to reverse the signal path or patch it. The audio signal can be controlled via the input and output levels for each filter. The result is usually a smooth yet brassy-style sound, ideal for a range of input sources.
Each filter utilises attenuverters for both the Frequency and Resonance controls. The SE-88 does not self-oscillate but the resonance level has been amped up to the max for full-throttle squelching. There is also an additional master FM attenuverter-controlled level for both filters. Tracking switches allow you to cater for individual keyboard response. The versatile design includes ten patch points for flexible modulation and manipulation options. There is also a full/half-track switch that allows you to change the keyboard voltage for added versatility.
The sleek yet robust construction of the SE-88 Filter features a Eurorack format design, allowing you to easily incorporate this into your rack. The all-metal faceplate features an ergonomic layout with all the major controls and patch points clearly labelled, allowing you to make changes on the fly. The precision rotary controls allow you to dial in the right amount of each parameter. The 20HP construction includes level control for two of the inputs on either side of the filter.
