Key Features
The Hofner 500/1 violin bass was designed by Walter Hofner and launched at the Frankfurt Music Messe in 1956. It has since gone on to become one of the most recognisable electric bass guitars in the music world in terms of both looks and sound.
Please note: This bass guitar features all the same specs as the Hofner Vintage 64 Violin Bass reissue, but has been renamed '500/1' Violin Bass and is the standard model.
Product Ref: 24900
Featuring a slim profile neck, the Vintage 64 has a distinctive white celluloid neck, seperating the V64 from the other German made Hofner violin basses. The light weight of the fully hollow body will be appreciated after a long nights playing.
Founded in 1864, Hofner's comprehensive range of guitars draws on the firms long-standing success making precision string instruments for musicians. The Beatles' Sir Paul McCartney played a Hofner Violin Bass, and the company's superb attention to detail and stylish design has continued to inspire both rock and jazz musicians to this day. Despite the numerous changes over 125 years the company is still strongly a family firm with strong values for customers, and for high quality, musical instruments.
